Outpace Privacy Policy
Human Version (Read This First)

Let’s be entirely clear: I am disgusted by the modern internet's obsession with surveillance capitalism. The idea of harvesting your biometric data, training habits, and personal health metrics to sell to data brokers or advertisers to make a quick buck is morally repugnant to me.

I will never sell your data.

Outpace makes money because you pay for a subscription to use a premium coaching tool. That is the only transaction. You are the customer, not the product.

However, I also want to be perfectly transparent about the future. I am bootstrapping this app. If Outpace is ever acquired by another company, they will acquire the app's databases. I cannot predict what a future buyer's moral compass will look like.

Because of this, I make you two absolute promises:

  1. You will not be caught off guard. If I ever agree to sell this company, you will be notified well in advance of any data changing hands.
  2. You always have the kill switch. There is a permanent, one-click "Delete My Account & Data" button in your profile settings (accessible via Actions > Edit Profile > Delete Account). If you don't like the new buyers, you can wipe your entire physiological history from our servers before they ever get the keys.

2. The Legal Version

The following outlines the legal mechanics of how we collect, store, and protect your data, including what happens in a business transfer.

What We Collect and Why

To provide you with contextual endurance coaching, we collect:

  • Account Data: Name, email, and subscription status.
  • Telemetry Data: .fit files, heart rate, GPS routes, and training metrics pulled from third-party integrations (e.g., Garmin, Strava) that you explicitly authorize.
  • Subjective Data: The stress, sleep, and fatigue metrics you manually input.

This data is used exclusively to generate your training plans and physiological insights. It is not used for advertising, nor is it fed into public AI training models.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We only share data with the infrastructure providers necessary to run the app (e.g., our secure cloud hosting and the LLM APIs used to generate your coaching insights). These providers are contractually bound to strictly process your data for the app's functionality and nothing else.

Business Transfers and Acquisitions

In the event that Outpace is involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Should this occur, we legally commit to the following:

  • We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice within the app of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information.
  • We will provide this notice a minimum of 30 days before any of your data is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • We will explicitly remind you of your right to delete your account and all associated biometric and training data prior to the transfer.

Your Right to Erasure

You retain complete ownership of your data. You may request the deletion of your account and all associated historical data at any time by navigating to Actions > Edit Profile > Delete Account. Upon clicking, your data will be permanently purged from our active databases and third-party infrastructure.
